Welcome to the Venice High School Magnets

Welcome to my webpage. I'm pleased and proud to tell you that I'm the coordinator for both Venice High School's magnificent magnets. After teaching French for twenty years in the World Language and Global Studies Magnet, working outside of the classroom to promote our students' success is a delightful challenge. What do I like best about my new job? That changes daily, but I've really come to enjoy working with parents, teachers and counselors more closely than I ever have before.

If you're considering the benefits of a public education for your student as he or she enters high school, then a magnet school is about the best choice you can make and you can choose no finer magnet than one of the two we have at Venice: the STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math and Medicine) Magnet or the World Languages and Global Studies (WLGS) Magnet. We've got your student's left brain and right brain covered! What's more, we have strong math and science instruction in our languages magnet and strong social studies and language instruction in our science magnet. We teach the WHOLE teenager.

While offering each of our magnet students a rich academy experience, enrollment in the magnet offers the benefits of attending a larger high school with its electives, its activities and the sheer teenage fun of a full American high school experience. Don't forget, it was at Venice High School that John Travolta and Olivia Newton John sang and danced their way into immortality in the movie Grease! We have athletics, cheer, painting, drawing, band, two choirs, Sports Medicine, printing, college courses and much more to offer your student.

Consider Venice!
