The MEDIA, Arts and Technology Academy has sponsored an annual MEDIA Art Show since 2014.

The focus of the Media, Arts & Technology Academy is media and computer literacy for 21st century learners within an academic and media arts or technology based course of study to prepare for college and/or a career in design, visual, media arts, and technology.

Creative people should apply!

FALL

Media 2 - Reading Media: Acquiring Media Literacy Skills

This course will acquaint students with the inquiry process as applied to electronic and print media texts from sources such as television, radio, film, podcasting, WWW sites and video games.

 

Media 20 - Introduction to Writing and Producing Short Form Media

This course offers basic training and practical experience in writing, producing, shooting, music selecting, and directing voice-over talent for short-form media projects. 

 

Graphic Design 18 -Introduction to Graphic Design Applications

This computer course provides an overview of digital applications used in the field of Graphic Design: Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. 

 

SPRING

Media 1 - Survey of Mass Media Communications

This course introduces aspects of communications and the impact of mass media on the individual and society.

 

Graphic Design 64 - Digital Imaging for Design

Using Adobe Photoshop, this computer class teaches students how to scan, manipulate, and enhance digital images for graphic reproduction and use on the web.

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS

Young Storytellers:

Make a movie. Tell your story. Amplify your voice.

 

Young story tellers is now accepting applications for P.O.V., a FREE after school program at Venice High School.

 

You'll work with other students and a professional fimmaker to write a screen play and film your movie on a Canon DSLR. At the end of the program, you will watch your film with family and friends at THE BIG SCREENING!

 

Wednesdays: 3:15 to 4:45 PM

25 weeks - Fall and Spring semester
