Frederick Moore

English teacher Frederick Moore joined the World Language and Global Studies Magnet at Venice High School in 2004, having spent the previous decade at Mark Twain Middle School. Prior to that, he worked as a musician and composer. There is a stronger connection between the two careers than may initially seem apparent. Indeed, Mr. Moore’s memories of learning to read music, of struggling to grasp very involved classical forms, and of finding a methodical approach for developing a momentary inspiration into a fully evolved musical composition have all informed his approaches for guiding students as they encounter challenging texts of all sorts, and work to express their ideas in an efficient and clear manner. Mr. Moore earned his Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees from California State University, Northridge. Currently, he is the sponsor of the Feminist Club.
