Hola!/Hello! I am a Spanish teacher in the STEMM Magnet at Venice High School.  I came to Venice in 2014 after teaching 15 years in Northeast Los Angeles. I graduated from California State University Los Angeles with a B.A. and an M.A. in Latin American Studies and also completed my Single Subject California Teaching Credential there in Spanish with a BCLAD.  Over the years I have completed many workshops for teaching second language through the LA Stars-California Foreign Language Project.  My interests in the Spanish speaking world include both Spain and Latin America.  I have studied and traveled in Spain, Mexico and Central America.  I have a passion for the language and culture as well as the social and political issues.  I have also led student tours to Europe and travel whenever I can for my own enrichment

In my class, students are guided to develop their skills in all areas: reading, writing, listening and speaking.  I am dedicated to teaching ALL students.  During the course of the year students will engage in a variety of activities that target different learning styles.  Assessments include tests, quizzes, and audio and video projects.

Above all, we have fun!  Even though it is difficult, learning a new language is exciting.  I hope my students will get as excited as I am about Spanish
