INTRODUCTION

My name is Mr. Shimizu. I teach Physical Education and I am also an assistant coach for varsity football.  I am a former graduate of Venice High School so I am glad to be back home.  I earned my bachelor's degree in Kinesiology at San Jose State University and I went on to earn my teaching credential online at National University. My goal is to inspire students to prolong their education at the university level.  Physical Education is NOT just about playing sports and being active. I still think students need to learn and be EDUCATED about the benefits of physical activity.  Throughout my class, students will learn about the importance of physical activity and staying active.

HOW GRADING WORKS

DRESSING AND PARTICIPATION = 65% of Grade

RUNS = 20% of Grade

FINAL = 10% of Grade

WRITTEN ASSIGNMENT = 5% of Grade

Grading is very simple. DRESS, PARTICIPATE, DO GOOD ON RUNS, COMPLETE THE WRITTEN ASSIGNMENT, and you will pass with a good grade.

It is very important to notice that PARTICIPATION POINTS are ALL or NOTHING. If you stop participating for one second or give very little effort at any time, you will lose all of your participation points for the day.
