Marcos Sandoval

The Venice Vibe

I have had the pleasure of teaching English Language Arts through LAUSD for the previous five and a half years. Originally, I started my teaching career at Hollenbeck MS (English 8, and Creative Writing), and Bret Harte MS (English 6, 7, and 8) for three years before arriving at Venice HS. Over the previous two years I has taught Advanced Placement Language & Composition, Honors English 9, English 9, Advanced English Language Development, as well as Literacy & Language. Despite only having my own classroom for roughly five years, I have been involved in the realm of education for quite sometime. During my college years, I was a teacher's assistant for LAUSD, and worked as a Senior Recreation Leader for the Culver City after school program.

I attended and received my Associate of Arts degree from Santa Monica College. From SMC, I attended and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Education with an emphasis in Creative Writing from California State University Long Beach. After receiving my BA, I continued my collegiate career and received my teaching credential through the Single-Subject Credential Program at CSULB.

As a Venice HS alumni, I am honored to give back to the educational institution that cultivated my love for literature, and the art of the written word. I have lived my life in and around the Venice area. Chances are students and parents will see me cruising the Venice boardwalk, meandering about the Marina Del Rey, or enjoy an evening meal at Paco's Tacos restaurant. Feel free to give a wave, or say hello. I promise to wave back.
