  • The point of our schedule is to avoid scheduling conflicts. Teachers won't necessarily have a Zoom or other video conferencing  class during that time, as teachers are also using Schoology and other formats to teach our kids. Teachers will continue to communicate with students through Schoology, email and other formats to maximize student outreach.
  • Our teachers are working diligently to work with our kids and make accommodations as needed for students during this time.
  • Some teachers will use the flex time to have further contact with students with advanced notification.  Be assured that our teachers are doing all that they can to maximize teaching and learning. We appreciate your support.

A Message from the Principal on Grades during the COVID-19 School closure

Parents and Guardians,

I want to update you on a new grading expectation, which will go into effect for the 15 and 20-week report card.

Going forward, teachers cannot FAIL a student on the 15 and 20-week mark reporting period. However, it is the expectation that students are doing the work provided by teachers and actively participating to get the best grade possible.

Teachers are allowed to give a “U” for work habits and cooperation if students are not engaging in the work. Although students may receive a grade of A-D, they will receive a U in work habits and cooperation for non- participation or communication with teachers. Consequences of a “U” are such as being ineligible for Delphians, Jackets of Excellence, or other awards. Also, students should do their best as Spring and Summer grades will determine eligibility for Fall sports.

Students who have a “D” in any course will be contacted by the teacher through email or phone call to provide additional opportunities for the student to turn in assignments or make-up work and to discuss needed academic support.

Finally, any student who receives a “D” will be automatically enrolled in summer school.

Make sure your child continues to work with their teachers to get the best grade possible. We do not want them to be disqualified for opportunities in the fall.
